A quad-helix is an orthodontic appliance for the upper arch of the mouth. It is attached or tied to 2 molar bands and has 4 helix's and 2 arms.  Quad helix is used during orthodontic treatment to expand the upper arch; for example is you have a narrow arch with crowded teeth or to correct a posterior cross-bites.
