The Scottish Government has just published newguidelines for all dental practices in Scotland which come in to effect as of TODAY – Wednesday 18th March. These procedures have been put in place toprotect our patients and our staff.
The practice is open its normal working hours.
We have been advised to postpone any treatment thatmay create an aerosol.
We can stillsee patients for exams, simple fixed adjusts, debonds and emergencies, but onlythose who are symptom-free (and have no family members or members of the samehousehold who have symptoms). Anypatients who are in a vulnerable group should not attend for routineappointments. These include patients over 70 years old, patients with anunderlying medical condition (i.e. anyone that normally requires the yearly flujab), patient who is pregnant. If any ofthe above patient has a dental emergency then either phone the practice foradvice first or NHS 24 on 111. We willbe contacting all patients who are affected by these new guidelines over thenext few days regarding appointments. For any patients who do come in to thepractice over the next few weeks, rest assured we continue to follow universalprecautions in cleanliness and infection control. We have hand sanitiseravailable at reception and will be cleaning all patient zones regularly andthoroughly. We would also kindly ask that if you are attending an appointmentto please attend on your own if at all possible or with one parent/guardian toreduce the number of people oin the waiting room. This situation is likely tochange over the next few weeks/months and we will post any new information onour facebook page as soon as available. In the meantime, if you have anyquestions then please call perla orthodontics on 01382 549675.
Thank you very much for your cooperation
